Mrs Sophie Desmarais is a noted Canadian philanthropist and civic leader, who has dedicated her life to improving the lives of people around the world.

Having spent several decades and billions of dollars providing homes for vulnerable women, funding mental health support for children, and supporting medical research into heart disease, brain tumors and liver and breast cancers, Mrs Desmarais has now turned her attention to the fight against Covid-19.
